Om Fit Tip: National Heart Health Month!

Your heart is the organ that keeps everything functioning properly in your body. Therefore, it is important to ensure you are keeping it healthy. Physical activity for 30 minutes or more per day is the minimum recommendation for health benefits.

The stronger your heart, the more efficiently it will be able to pump blood to your organs and muscles, and the clearer your arteries will be. Physical activity that allows you to expend over 1,700 calories per week will halt plaque accumulation and aid in regression of plaque.

Keep your heart strong with this treadmill workout 2-3 times per week at your neighborhood Om Fitness Club:

Warm-up: Walk 3-5 minutes

Jog or walk: 2 minutes
Run: 1 minute
Jog or walk: 2 minutes
Run: 1 minute
Continue for a total of 25-30 minutes
