Cherry Street Project Announcement
Get involved with transforming RiverSouth Alley into a pedestrian space.
For two months, Cherry Street, right here in our RiverSouth neighborhood, will be transformed into a pedestrian oriented street and filled with events, lights, art, seating and food trucks. Thanks to Transit Columbus, this will be a space to gather, relax and enjoy with friends, family and neighbors – It will truly be a place for people.
We are reaching out to LC residents in attempt to get volunteers to help co-create the space. Beginning Friday May 27, Lifestyle Communities and other neighbors will be working with PlaceMakes: to paint the street. Below are three time slots available to get involved with helping to create this unique experience in Downtown Columbus.
- Friday May 27 6pm
- Saturday May 28 10am
- Saturday June 6 10am

Additionally, PlaceMakes: will be hosting a Grand Opening Party on Thursday, June 9 at 6:30 pm. Other events will be announced at a later date. For more information and to stay-up-to-date on the Cherry Street project, check out and "like" the PlaceMakes Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PlaceMakes.
PlaceMakes: redefines engagement with public space through a people-centered approach; initiating a dialogue in which we think about, engage, and interact with community and the space that surrounds us.
