We've received a report of multiple car break-ins that took place in the community targeting unlocked cars. In our continuing efforts to keep your community safe, we wanted to remind everyone to be vigilant in recognizing and reporting any suspicious activity and/or persons in your community. You are the best resource in keeping your community safe. Below are tips from The National Crime Prevention Council: * Never confront suspicious persons. Call police immediately. * Install an anti-theft device in your car. * Never leave your car running or leave the keys in the ignition when it is unattended. * Keep your car door locked at all times. * If you have a garage, park your car inside and lock the garage door. * Do not store packages in plain sight, conceal all valuables. * Take out any removable electronic devices (e.g. CD player, iPod, etc. ) when you leave your car. * Park in well-lit areas. Again, please be aware of your surroundings and make all necessary precautions. As always if you see anything suspicious, your initial step should be to contact the police immediately.
