LC Proposes New Downtown Apartment Community at Front and Main
Lifestyle Communities looks to expand its LC RiverSouth community in Downtown with 117 brand new flats to be built on the northwest corner of Front St. and Main St.
COLUMBUS, OH November 4, 2015
Lifestyle Communities (“LC”) has recently submitted a proposal to the Columbus Downtown Commission for a 117-unit apartment community at the northwest corner of Front St. and Main St. that would expand on its existing LC RiverSouth community. If approved, the project would involve the construction of two adjoining five-story buildings with sub-level parking as well as the preservation of the historical building at 88 W. Main St.
“It is important to us that the design is contextually relevant, while filling in the urban fabric amongst historic buildings” said Chase Miller, LC’s Director of Development. He continued, "It is exciting to see the RiverSouth district coming into its own and getting better every day. This will be our fourth project in the District and is an important part of our continued commitment to building a great neighborhood in Downtown Columbus.”
The proposed building on the northwest corner of Front St. and Main St. is inspired by urban boutique hotel architecture of the early 1900’s, while the adjoining building features Chicago-inspired warehouse architecture from the same era. The community features one- and two- bedroom flats starting around 800 square feet, courtyards, and corner store retail space.
LC plans to appear before the Columbus Downtown Commission in November to present the project for approval.
