Known for some of the best shopping options in the Midwest, Columbus is home to small boutiques, locally-owned businesses, and major national retailers like Victoria’s Secret, DSW and Abercrombie & Fitch. Suffice it to say, if you’re looking for a weekend shopping excursion, you’ll find it here. We’ve got a long list of favorites, but in order to get you out on the town a little faster, we’ve narrowed this list down to five in and around the Columbus area.
Bliss Life + Style
4345 West Dublin-Granville Road, Dublin, OH
This is a charming storefront offering a mix of gift options and home furnishings, and it’s owned by three sisters from the Bett family, Lou Ann, Tina and Kim. In their store, you’ll experience an eclectic and well-curated collection of home accessories, paper goods, jewelry and gifts created by local artisans and brands from across the globe. We’re especially partial to the dog print pillows. Just adorable. They’re open daily, but hours vary, so make sure you check before you visit.
72 North High Street, Dublin, OH
Boho 72 was created on a simple love for unique clothing and trendy design at a reasonable cost, and that’s exactly what it delivers. The store has a little of everything from clothing and accessories to jewelry and home decor, plus some Dublin-specific items so you can show your support for your home city. Look for their brick and mortar just across the street from Brazenhead Irish pub in Historic Dublin.
15 West Main Street, New Albany, OH
When we first stepped into this shop, we were greeted by the most amazing candle scent of all time. It actually smelled like the fall season, but without any overwhelming pumpkin or cinnamon notes. So, we of course tracked it down and purchased one immediately. This store has a lot of charm within its walls, and you’ll feel the welcoming vibe as soon as you step through the doors. Vintage Restyled focuses mainly on home decor, offering everything from restyled furniture to farmhouse finds. They also stock a top-selling chalk-base paint called Maison Blanche that’s perfect for your next refurbishment project.
Chelsea Borough Home
54 South High Street, Dublin, OH
Just down the road from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Dublin is Chelsea Borough Home (CBH). Housed in a historical building, this quaint boutique is owned by a mother-daughter duo dedicated to finding fun and beautiful items to inspire your home. CBH proudly curates their collections with a focus on quality, price and uniqueness, and we think you’ll have a hard time narrowing down what to buy. We highly recommend visiting the store in person, but if you’re tight on time and unable to do so, CBH has an online store where you can shop to your heart’s content.
718 North High Street, Columbus, OH
We’re rounding out our list with one of our favorite spots in the Short North, Rowe Boutique. Owned and operated by Columbus-born Maren Roth, Rowe began in 2006 as a pop-up shop before opening its permanent doors in early 2007. Since then, the shop has expanded to include the space adjacent to the original storefront, nearly doubling in size. This contemporary women’s clothing boutique features carefully selected collections of emerging designers for fashion conscious shoppers. It’s a truly beautiful space. But perhaps more than the store itself, our fondness for Rowe stems from its passion for cancer research.
In 2006, Maren created The Jack Roth Fund in memory of her late father. The foundation promotes the vital research and treatment necessary to combat lung cancer, through the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, and to support Jack Roth Camp Netaim - a program in Israel for children with special needs. Through her multiple fundraising efforts, including an annual Rowe Fashion Show and The Jack Roth 5K Rock ‘N’ Run the fund has raised over $1.3 million for cancer research. That’s a cause we’re happy to support.
We’ll share more of our favorite local shops throughout the year, and invite you to tag us on Instagram and Facebook (@lifestylecommunities) with some of the places you love to visit, too. After all, the holiday season is almost upon us. No time like the present to find that special gift for that special someone (even if that someone is you; we won’t judge).
