Good food in Louisville is not hard to come by, and that’s part of the reason why we struggle to pick favorites. You won’t find us doing that here today, either, but we do have four places in and around the city that we are really loving right now. Next time you’re looking for a date night out or a good dinner spot to meet friends, try one of these restaurants and prepare to be amazed.

You say, “Migo?” We say, “We’ll go.” This place is so incredibly good, we really can’t recommend it enough. The Curry Cauliflower Quesadilla is a staple and the Elote is a side dish you have to order. Honestly, there are too many options for tacos to list here, so just make multiple visits and try something new every time and you won’t go wrong. Migo is located in the Douglas Loop Circle of Louisville’s Highlands Neighborhood, and is a welcome addition to the city’s thriving local restaurant scene. Since its opening in October 2015, this corner door eatery has charmed the hearts and taste buds of thousands of visitors from all across the country. In addition to a menu that pays homage to traditional latin cuisine, Migo offers several house made creations and cocktails that give every guest an opportunity to make each experience unique to their own personal taste. You’ll love it here.

Banh mi, anyone? You have to try one of our favorite dishes at Namnam cafe - a sandwich with your choice of meat on a crispy, light French baguette with pickled carrot, cilantro, jalapenos, scallions, cucumber and aioli. The Imperial Rolls starter is delicious, too, and a good way to curb your hunger while you wait for your main dish to arrive. We also love that the Namnam Cafe is a locally owned family restaurant, and Head Chef David Truong and family work hard to bring healthy, affordable asian cuisine to Louisville. We couldn’t be happier that they’re part of the city!

This place is worthy of the hype. Housed inside a modest 19th-century brick building in one of Louisville’s coolest neighborhoods is the award-winning Butchertown Grocery. The expansive food and drink menu (including brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert) is full of amazing choices, and we highly recommend the steak frites, fettuccine and king salmon, just to name a few. Formerly home to a family market, Butchertown Grocery was voted amongst the nation’s top restaurants. One sample of their incredible dishes and it’s easy to see why. Don’t forget about the drinks, either! The Paper Plane and Jack Rose are exceptionally good, but we imagine it’s difficult to find a bad one here.

Harvest has a cool atmosphere in the vibrant Downtown NuLu arts district of East Market Street, just five minutes from Downtown Louisville. Just passing by on the street, you can tell this is a great place to dine. And once you get inside and taste the farm-to-table style meals, you’ll be hooked. On our last visit, we ordered the Ricotta-Spinach Ravioli and Half Fried Chicken and both were delicious. But perhaps what we love most is Harvest’s dedication to serving outstanding, regionally inspired, seasonal “farm-to-table” cuisine. They source 80% of ingredients from within a 100-mile radius, and many of their foods are baked, cured, smoked and preserved in-house. It makes for a quality dining experience that keeps us coming back for more. We think it’ll be the same for you, too.
So, what do you think? Have you been to any or all of these Louisville restaurants? Where else do you like to dine in and around the city? Share your feedback with us on Facebook and Instagram, @lifestylecommunities, and we’ll add them to our must-try list.
