Broadway may get all of the attention but, have you ever wondered what lies right past the hustle and bustle of honkey tonk central? South Broadway otherwise known as SoBro. A vibrant neighborhood full of local shops, delicious cuisine, plenty of things to do, and the future site of LC SoBro.
WHERE TO SHOP
150 3rd Ave S
Whether you need a few quick groceries or drinks for a Friday evening get together with friends, Southernaire is SoBro’s neighborhood market, butcher & eatery. Offerings include everything from local chocolates to a full meat counter to made-to-order soups, salads, and sandwiches.
WHERE TO EAT
201 3rd Avenue S
Bakersfield is serving up authentic Mexican street fare alongside a selection of over 100 tequilas and whiskeys. Tacos are sold individually so choose as many flavors as your heart (and stomach) desires. But, don’t forget the margarita--they use real lime juice and agave and trust us, you can taste the difference.
37 Rutledge St.
The #1 rule at Husk is: if doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door. With just one glance at the menu, you’ll see that this rule is reflected in every dish. The menu is ingredient-driven and changes frequently based on what local farmers have to offer.
207 1st Avenue S
Classic southern cooking meets French classics at Liberty Common. Although we’ve never eaten or drank anything here that we didn’t enjoy--we’re especially big fans of their happy hour oysters--the standout of this brasserie is the ambiance of the space.
410 4th Avenue South
It’s natural to get a BBQ craving every once in awhile while being surrounded by endless southern comfort food in Nashville. Martin’s Bar-B-Que is serving up whole-hog pit-fired BBQ along with some of your favorite southern sides. You can’t go wrong with one of their BBQ trays and a side of mac & cheese and hushpuppies.
WHERE TO GRAB COFFEE
15 Hermitage Ave
Not only is CREMA’s coffee delicious but we also appreciate the opportunity to support their initiatives to source coffee directly from farmers they know and trust. And as if that wasn’t impressive enough already…they’re a zero waste operation meaning everything is either compostable or recycled.
