Meet one of LC SoBro’s first residents, Ariel. Originally from a small town in Ohio, she’s now a guitar-playing nurse, residing in downtown Nashville. In 2014, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a nursing degree and moved to Nashville to start a new chapter in her life. After just a short year in Music City, she returned to Ohio to pursue a Master’s Degree, but she just couldn’t stay away.
How would you describe your style?
I didn’t have a specific style in mind when I chose decor for my home. Luckily, my mom has a good eye for interior design and is a bit of a shopaholic so she was able to help me design my space.
A lot of the items you’ll find inside my home are from either TJ Maxx or Home Goods. They’re two of my favorite places to shop for home decor. I love that you never know exactly what you’re going to find within their stores and a lot of times you end up leaving with items that you didn’t even know you needed.
What is your favorite element in your home?
My favorite part of my apartment has to be the huge kitchen island. It’s seriously such a luxury after the small, cramped kitchens in my previous apartments. It’s great to have the extra counter space for prepping and cooking meals, but I also love that it acts as a built in place to sit and eat. The open layout was also a big selling point for me; it makes my one bedroom feel so much larger than it really is!
What do you like best about the SoBro neighborhood?
Like the name suggests, SoBro really is just south of Broadway and a short distance away from all the restaurants and bars downtown. I have enjoyed being able to take a quick walk down to Broadway or other parts of Downtown for dinner or a few drinks. It has also been very convenient to be located in such close proximity to the highway; it’s so easy and quick to get to other parts of the city and makes my quick commute to work almost effortless!
What have you liked best about living at LC SoBro?
First and foremost, it’s been great to move into such a beautiful and spacious unit; it has made decorating so easy and fun! I’m also very excited to be able to eat and drink at the restaurant and bar within the community, The Goat, lounge by the terrace pool, and get my sweat on at the gym. It truly feels like a community here.
