As Chief Investment Officer, Michael leads LC’s investment strategy, oversees value creation for the portfolio, and heads the firm’s capital markets activities. He serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining LC, Michael was a Senior Vice President at GIC Real Estate, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, where he led the firm’s U.S. multifamily investment strategy and was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, executing, and managing investments and building the firm’s presence in the Americas. There he led the investment of more than $5 billion, forming ventures with various operating partners and domestic and international institutional investors.
Michael began his career as an Associate at American Capital in its private equity and leveraged finance group and as an Investment Banking Analyst at Avondale Partners.
He holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and National Multifamily Housing Council.
