Columbus, Ohio, April 4, 2023 — Today, Lifestyle Communities (LC) and Habitat for Humanity MidOhio jointly held a home dedication ceremony to mark the beginning of a new chapter for a local family.
The sponsored family and new homeowners, Omar and Fahima and their four children, will soon move into a four-bedroom home in Linden. For Omar and Fahima, owning a home and paying an affordable mortgage is a lifelong dream come true.
“We could not be more grateful for the generosity of LC and the company’s employees that made this home possible,” said E.J. Thomas, Habitat for Humanity MidOhio President & CEO. “We appreciate LC’s philanthropic focus on increasing homeownership in central Ohio, and we know our new partner family does as well!”
For the past three years, Omar has worked at a technology recycling company to provide for the family. Due to their family size, finding a house that meets their needs and is also affordable has been a significant challenge for them.
“It has been our dream to build a good future for our children, to provide them comfort and safety, and to study in the best schools,” said Omar. “Today, that dream came true. This has truly been a life-changing experience for us.”
As part of the company’s commitment to constructing affordable homes for families, LC team members dedicated nearly 600 volunteer hours to building this particular home. Together, they worked side by side with other community volunteers and the homeowners themselves, Omar and Fahima, to help achieve their dream of homeownership.
