As one of the fastest growing suburbs in Columbus, Gahanna offers a visitor experience second to none. From nature trails and outdoor activities to shopping and entertainment, this vibrant city brings a lot to the table. Use one of the seasonable fall weekends to explore more of Gahanna, and see why this city was recently named one of Ohio Magazine’s Best Hometowns.
You’ll want to bring your camera for this one. Gahanna’s Creekside District is a picturesque area set alongside the water of Big Walnut Creek, featuring trails, herb gardens, waterfall, and even paddleboat rentals. During the summer, you can catch live music on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at one of the Creekside LIVE! Concerts. Stop for a picture on the wooden boardwalk overlooking the water - it’s a truly beautiful and peaceful setting.
Griffin Art Gallery
While you’re in the Creekside District, stop in to view an incredible collection of work by talented artists from the area and beyond at Griffin Art Gallery. Much of the artwork showcases Ohio’s rich artistic history and the artists it produces, and it’s definitely worth a visit. The gallery also welcomes opportunities to represent exceptional Ohio-based artists in an effort to support the region’s growing art community.
Swisher Creek Farm
Just Northeast of Gahanna lies Swisher Creek Farm, a locally-owned and operated Alpaca farm. Guests can take a free educational tour of the farm (by appointment) with owners Pete and Judy Klein, and visit the gift store to shop their full line of alpaca products made in Peru.
Named for Jane "Bunnie" Geroux, the driving force behind Gahanna being named the Herb Capital of Ohio (1972), Geroux Gardens were dedicated in 2002. Stroll through the Culinary Garden, Scented Garden, Shade Garden, Rock/Biblical Garden, Pond Garden and Medicinal Garden. You’ll be blown away by the fragrance of the herbs and spectacular garden displays.
